Magic of Childminding – Parent forums

Join our online parent forum – share your voice!

Choosing childcare for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make – and we know it’s a decision that is not taken lightly.

For so many families, childminders offer so much more than childcare. They become a trusted extension of the family, creating nurturing home environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive. They build meaningful relationships, offer invaluable support, and play a vital role in children’s early development.

As part of our Magic of Childminding campaign, Coram PACEY is inviting parents in England and Wales to take part in a one-hour virtual forum (via Zoom) to share their experiences and perspectives on the impact childminders have on your children and your family life. Your insights will directly help shape our upcoming report, launching during Childminding Week 2026.

Choose a session that works for you:

Events are held online for you to join from the comfort of your home.

There are 6 spaces on each session. As a thank you for your time, participants will receive a £25 shopping voucher.

Who are we hoping to hear from?

We invite parents in England and Wales who currently use a childminder. We’re keen to hear from a diverse range of families, including:
• Parents of early years children
• Parents using childminders for before- and after-school care
• Parents using childminders during school holidays
• Parents of children with SEND/ALN or emerging needs

 What will we be discussing?

We’ll explore the many ways your childminder supports your child and your wider family. Discussion points might include:

  • Your child’s development, confidence, learning and communication
  • Access to activities, play opportunities and time spent outdoors
  • Flexibility that supports your work and family life
  • Mixed-age groups and caring for sibling groups
  • Wider support including behaviour, routines and toileting
  • Providing emotional reassurance and continuity of care
  • Supporting school transitions
  • Offering inclusive care
  • Acting as a trusted source of advice and guidance for parents
  • And more!

This is your opportunity to have your voice heard and help highlight the true value of childminding.
