Coram PACEY gives evidence in Education Committee’s early years inquiry

On 9 December 2025, Ka Lai Brightley-Hodges (Head of Coram PACEY) gave evidence to the Education Committee’s inquiry into the early years sector in England.

Ka Lai gave evidence on key issues facing the sector, including:

  • The recruitment and retention crisis facing childminders
  • The importance of local authority support in retaining a skilled workforce
  • Reinstatement of mandatory training for childminders joining the Early Years Register
  • The impact of the rollout of the funded entitlements scheme
  • Our call for the professionalisation and regulation of nannies

We were pleased to see the Committee’s interest in the challenges that home-based childcare providers are facing every day, and we will continue to engage with them to ensure that our members are represented.
