Social Care Wales are asking early years and childcare settings to work with them to offer work trials.
The work trial scheme helps people who've completed the Introduction to childcare programme to gain a placement opportunity. For some participants this is their first step into the world of childcare, and they won’t have previous experience in settings. To help bridge that gap, the work trial scheme offers opportunities in settings so participants can get experience and a chance to see what working in the sector is really like.
Introduction to Childcare is an online one-day course which gives an overview of working in the early years and childcare sector. It’s aimed at people who don’t have previous knowledge or experience of working in the sector.
The placement aims to speed up the recruitment process, so that people can get into work quicker and could give them an advantage over other people applying for the same jobs. It will also help employers recruit the right people who are really interested in early years and childcare work.
Settings can join the scheme by filling in the expression of interest form below. The scheme is flexible - settings and participants can discuss and decide together on the length and frequency of the trial.

Mae Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru yn gofyn i leoliadau blynyddoedd cynnar a gofal plant roi cyfleoedd i gael treialon gwaith cymorth.
Byddai'r cynllun treial gwaith yn helpu unigolion sydd wedi cwblhau'r rhaglen Cyflwyniad i Ofal Plant gael cyfle i gael lleoliad gwaithI rai o gwblhawyr y cwrs, dyma eu cam cyntaf i fyd gofal plant, ac nid oes ganddyn nhw unrhyw brofiad blaenorol mewn lleoliadau. Er mwyn helpu i bontio’r bwlch hwnnw, mae’r cynllun treialon gwaith yn cynnig cyfleoedd mewn lleoliadau fel y gall cwblhawyr y cwrs gael profiad a chyfle i weld sut beth yw gweithio yn y sector.
Mae’r cwrs Cyflwyniad i Ofal Plant yn gwrs ar-lein, un diwrnod o hyd, sy’n rhoi trosolwg o weithio yn y sector blynyddoedd cynnar a gofal plant. Mae wedi’i anelu at bobl sydd heb wybodaeth neu brofiad blaenorol o weithio yn y sector.
Nod y lleoliad gwaith yw cyflymu'r broses recriwtio, fel bod pobl yn gallu dechrau gweithio'n gynt a rhoi mantais iddyn nhw dros bobl eraill sy'n ymgeisio am yr un swyddi. Byddai hefyd yn helpu cyflogwyr recriwtio'r pobl cywir sydd wir â diddordeb mewn gweithio yn y sector blynyddoedd cynnar a gofal plant.
Gall lleoliadau ymuno gyda’r cynllun drwy lenwi’r ffurflen mynegi diddordeb isod.. Mae’r cynllun yn hyblyg – gall lleoliadau a chwblhawyr y cwrs drafod a phenderfynu gyda’i gilydd ar hyd ac amlder y treial gwaith.
